We are looking for a passionate and driven Programme Manager to lead our exciting women & girls programme.

London Football Journeys (LFJ) and Laces Community Club (LCC) have teamed up to deliver this innovative partnership programme enabling girls and young women to: take part in inclusive football sessions; build communication skills and self-esteem; reduce negative stereotypes; and improve leadership skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, delivery, coordination and evaluation of activities. This role is a great opportunity for someone who has the appetite to take ownership of the programme and deliver fun and interactive youth sessions for women and girls.

Desk based work at Impact Hub Islington (27 Dingley Pl, London EC1V 8BR)

Position type: Part time (4 days a week, with evening work required)

Contract: 1 year fixed term (with potential for extension)

Annual Leave: 27 days per year (pro-rata)

Reporting to: LFJ Director

Key stakeholders: Coaches at each club, Schools, Director Hackney Laces

Laces Community Club places female football at the heart of bettering their community, creates opportunities for young women in both life and in football, shares their experiences, skills and knowledge with others and provides a safe, fun and inclusive environment for girls.

Purpose of role

Your role will be to plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate our youth programmes and to support the wider work of LFJ & LCC.

Key result areas:

To plan, deliver and coordinate the running of youth workshop, reporting to the Director
To ensure that all work undertaken with young people is fed into the relevant KPIs and targets
To successfully coordinate with programme partners and work to contract aims and objectives
Input regular data and information for our monitoring and evaluation framework and reports defining progress, problems and solutions
Keep up-to-date with youth, community and educational issues that affect LFJ & LCC
Coordinate events and communications to publicise the project's activities
Manage and carry out any necessary administration (e.g finance)
Input on social media and communication platforms

Within delivery of activities:

Build relationships and engage with young people and the local community
Facilitate learning and development for young people
Promote young people's self-awareness, confidence and participation
Provide access to information and support for further leadership development

Key performance indicators:

Deliver exciting and innovative workshops and activities that build on the LFJ & LCC approaches and encourage the engagement and participation of young people
Coordinate effective relationships with external youth organisations, schools and the voluntary and private sectors to support the development of youth programmes
Plan and deliver across a range of areas including youth development and monitoring & evaluation
Ensure that partnerships and projects are successfully supported so they continue to progress, build upon achievements, increase quality and are sustainable
Provide quarterly comprehensive progress reports as well as monitoring and evaluating projects
Ensure all administrative duties are completed in a timely fashion

Person Specification

Skills and abilities

Proactive, highly motivated, creative and able to work as part of a team with the ability to manage own time and work load to meet deadlines and complete administrative tasks such as budgeting, action planning, file management and report writing
Excellent youth facilitator / people skills - ability to connect with people from different backgrounds including young people as a client group and other professionals

Experience and knowledge

Experience in youth work preferably with both formal and informal environments
Experience of supporting young women and girls to develop and then implement leadership skills in both formal and informal settings
Experience of successfully engaging and supporting hard to reach and vulnerable young people and their families
Demonstrable evidence of the development and delivery of successful youth projects and programmes
Experience of successfully meeting project targets and KPIs
Knowledge of child protection, health and safety and other youth work related issues
Demonstrate an active commitment to equal opportunities, with the ability to work in culturally diverse communities and groups
