Engagement Manager - VCTF Programme - London, United Kingdom,

The VCTF Engagement Manager is critical to supporting candidates candidates aged 25+ plus to divert away from a life of violence and build the emotional and financial resilience to stop offending and/or avoid custody. You will be part of a small team handling referrals from the MET Police Violent Crime Task Force.

You will develop individual progression plans to ensure your candidates can fulfill their own goals, relating to personal development, education, training and employment. The Engagement Manager will be referring candidates onto Bounce Back programmes, l iaising with potential employers, training organisations and or other support services to meet the on-going needs of your candidates.

Core Responsibilities

  • Screen candidates interested in joining any of the Bounce Back programs, adhering to the Bounce Back referral framework
  • Work with the Programme Manager to gain a better understanding of the potential restrictions in place when working with individual candidates and to keep communication channels open
  • Undertake appropriate risk assessments with all candidates escalating any safeguarding concerns to senior management
  • Through 121's and group workshops work with candidates to improve their general employability skills. This will include working with them on CV's, interview preparation and supporting them to build healthy work relationships through effective communication skills
  • Actively promote training and employment opportunities available to candidates, matching them to jobs within the Bounce Back network
  • Ensure candidates complete any compulsory industry specified training eg acquiring a CSCS card & assessment
  • Identify candidates that may need additional support across all offending pathways, working with specialist providers to ensure the candidate has the full wrap around support they need
  • Support candidates with accessing housing advice, maintaining tenancies, and managing their money
  • Support candidates to build their emotional resilience through specialist workshops and signposting
  • Carry out regular candidate care calls as part of in-work sustainability checks
  • Ensure that all records are up to date, accurate and meet all GDPR requirements
  • Act as an ambassador for VCTF and Bounce Back at external networking events

Personal Specification

Knowledge and Skills

  • Extensive experience of working within Careers Coaching or other relevant Information advice and Guidance positions
  • Knowledge of the construction, built environment and/or facilities management industries
  • Knowledge of the issues and challenges related to violence, gangs, offending and employment
  • Knowledge of supporting people with housing, mental health and financial well-being
  • A clear understanding of the rewards and challenges of working in partnership with the police, prisons, and probation
  • A working knowledge of safeguarding and risk management procedures
  • A sound knowledge of capturing data through varied tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong IT skills, including proven experience of using and maintaining a database
