Salary: £52,800 - £79,200 depending on skills and experience + car/cash allowance + annual bonus
Working Pattern: Fixed Term (12 months) | Flexible working patterns available | 37 hours per week
About the Department
Our SSE Finance function has a key part to play in fulfilling SSEs obligations as a UK-listed company, providing expertise and services that can be shared across the SSE Group, and working in partnership with all businesses to provide services tailored to their specific needs. SSE operates in a highly regulated and increasingly competitive environment, and our role is to ensure that we gather, compile, analyse and recommend on the financial strategy for our businesses, identifying opportunities to drive efficiencies and create value for SSE now, and in the future.
What is the Role?
This exciting opportunity has arisen within the SSE Enterprise Business for a Financial Reporting Accountant reporting to the Finance Director
Manage the monthly reporting cycle ensuring the Enterprise leadership team and Group reporting team receive accurate and insightful information, within the required reporting timetable.
Consolidate the weekly forecasting reporting and key deliverables reporting
Prepare the annual business plan packs, consolidating the numbers and preparing the commentary around the 5-year plan strategies and variances.
Liaise with the Financial Operations team to ensure the accurate reporting of month end numbers.
Coordinate and prepare monthly early bird forecasting.
Proactively maintain an awareness of the needs of the business and assist in ensuring changes in reporting are implemented.
Work closely with the finance business partners.
What do I need?
Experience of reporting in a Divisional or Group Role
Ability to manage to tight deadlines
Experience of a similar role where excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure are essential
Ability to adapt to engage across all levels of the organisation and across different business models (large industry and small growing, dynamic entities)
Effectively communicate financial performance to operational colleagues to embed financial understanding within the business
Able to manage multiple complex projects/processes simultaneously
Customer Orientation with an ability to develop an atmosphere of confidence, respect and trust across the wider business with a view to influencing business decisions
Able to develop, motivate and lead a diverse team
Strong commercial and strategic focus
