Head of Grants - London, United Kingdom,
As a crucial member of the UK Senior Leadership Team, you will drive the development and delivery of an ambitious grants fundraising strategy for an inspiring international development charity. This is a 12 month maternity cover, for the right candidate they will consider part time.
The Charity By working with all levels of society - from parents and community groups, to the government and private sector - the charity ensure child protection, education and health systems work for all children, especially the most vulnerable. Ultimately, this is helping families break the cycle of poverty for good.
You will produce a creative and ambitious Grants Fundraising Strategy to raise support for projects from institutional donors, trusts, charitable foundations and companies.
Line manage a Grants Manager and head up the Grants Team which also includes an Assistant.
Through internal reports and close communication with the charity, you will maintain an in-depth, up-to-date knowledge of the projects and their funding requirements, to help ensure your Grants Strategy remains relevant and maximises opportunities.
Through research and networking, you will ensure you stay informed about the external context relevant to our Grants fundraising.
A seasoned fundraising professional with a strong track record of successful fundraising for international development work.
Good knowledge/understanding of international development work. Ie at least a high-level understanding of how development programmes are designed and delivered (eg programme cycle management
Strategic leadership/senior management experience in grant/partnership fundraising - leading on the development and delivery of a strategy for raising funds from grantmakers/strategic partners (ie institutional donors, trusts, charitable foundations and companies)
Significant experience of technical grant management (as the lead account manager) for large and institutional donors (ie securing and managing six-figure, multi-year grants involving logical frameworks/complex programme plans and hard-restricted budgets)
