Resource Solutions are recruiting for an investment banking client who are seeking a strong risk modelling professional who ideally has some market / credit risk analytics experience.

A large investment bank are seeking a contractor to join the Model Risk Management (MRM) Department in a Chief Operating Officer role. This role involves directly supporting the EMEA and UK Group Head of Model Risk Management in the execution of the Department's mandate and strategy.

Primary responsibilities
• Assist the Head of EMEA Model Risk Management and their direct reports in ensuring the Department is run in an efficient and effective manner
• Assist in the planning, management and tracking of key MRM deliverables including regulatory commitments, audit and self-identified issue closures, and projects
• Assist in creation of presentations for internal governance committees and regulators, and perform peer reviews for clarity and consistency
• Assist in the monitoring of outsourcing arrangements to ensure they meet internal and regulatory expectations
• Be involved in the maintenance of policies and procedures owned by and related to MRM
• Serve as the EMEA MRM conduit relating to BAU COO activities, such as RCSA and resource planning
• Building strong relationships with various groups across the firm - acting as a key liaison between MRM, Market / Credit / Operational Risk, Front Office, IT and other Risk Departments both regionally and globally

Skills required (essential)
• Experience in financial services, preferably in areas relating to Risk models
• Strong background in controls and processes with a demonstrated ability to drive and implement change agendas (preferably in a technical model related function)
• Proven ability to prioritise, multitask and work to tight deadlines while keeping attention to details, asking the right question, and effectively challenging
• Excel in managing relationships across both the business and other control groups with a proven track record in influence and facilitation to achieve results
• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills, analytical thinking, and problem solving abilities
