Mechanical Fitter / Vehicle Big Build

Days

Responsible for:

  1. To assemble and install mechanical and hydraulic fitting assemblies and components to on chassis cab/Unimog type vehicles or pickup vehicles and light commercial vans mainly Ford Transits, Ivecos and Mercedes Sprinters.

  2. To undergo training to carry out vehicles' preparation and fitting of lift assembly, PTOs, mainframes and other associated mechanical assemblies, hydraulic kits and ancillary components to donor vehicle.

  3. To undergo training to carry out function checks upon completion of installation, fault diagnosis/problem solving if required.

  4. To undergo training to requisition parts and equipment as necessary.

  5. To undergo training to carry out work within realistic time/target hours to agreed schedules of work.

  6. To undergo training to adhere to existing work practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems.

  7. To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function as required by the Company.

    Skills and Experience

  1. Develop skills/ability to carry out basic/general mechanical fitting tasks, e.g. marking out, drilling, filing, riveting and welding.

  2. Develop skills/ability to use basic fitting hand tools, e.g. hammers, spanners, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.

  3. Develop skills/ability to use air/electric power tools, e.g. drills, grinders, jigsaw, rivet guns, nutserts.

  4. Develop skills/ability to carry out basic mechanical assembly skills, e.g. bolts, washers, nuts, riveting, torque settings...... click apply for full job details
