Programme Director (Strategic Estates Reconfiguration) - Truro, Cornwall, United Kingdom,

FTC 2 years initially

Cornwall is one of the fastest growing counties in the UK, with significant investment in infrastructure, housing and major projects such as the UK's first spaceport. The population of Cornwall is predicted to increase by 25% over the next 30 years, and the landscape of health and social care will need to respond to these changes. Our Journey to Brilliant strategy sets out an ambitious plan of quality improvement, service redesign and substantial capital investment to deliver modern healthcare services that meet the needs of our communities.

Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust is responsible for a number of capital projects totalling over £100m, with more in the pipeline. The most exciting project for the Trust, its patients and staff, is our new Women's and Children's Hospital which will provide maternity and paediatric services from a state-of-the-art new building at the heart of our Royal Cornwall Hospital site in Truro.

In addition to the new Women's and Children's Hospital, the Trust has also benefitted from an allocation of central Government 'seed funding' towards the development of an entirely new healthcare infrastructure across Cornwall. The Programme Director will be responsible for the successful delivery of the whole of this programme.

The Programme Director (together with the Programme Management Office which they will establish and lead) will be responsible for creating and delivering successful business cases, and will be accountable for the co-ordination of the programme's sub-projects and management of their interdependencies.

The ideal candidate will: be highly experienced in strategic and operational planning, monitoring and controlling programmes; have experience of delivering successful business cases; be MSP (Managing Successful Programmes) qualified; and have delivered other service transformation programmes that have involved significantly changing estate.
