Cancer Research UK's Research Engagement team connects people with the life-saving research we fund. We create memorable opportunities for communication and face-to-face engagement about cancer research, so that our supporters and the wider public understand and value the role of research in beating cancer and go on to take action in support of CRUK's mission. The team of 13 Research Engagement Managers are each based in one of the CRUK-funded research locations across the UK. Supported by a small management team, they build local relationships, train researchers, organise events, create social media content and devise interactive activities. We work across the organisation with colleagues from Fundraising, Communications, Policy and Information to ensure that supporters can engage with CRUK research in inspiring and creative ways. Research is the way CRUK is beating cancer. Connecting people to that research helps us to continue our life-saving work. We are looking for an ambitious team-player to help us take research engagement to priority individuals and groups whose engagement needs are not being met by lab visits and events delivered at or near our research locations. You will:Use insight to develop new projects and experiences that bring CRUK's research to life for our supportersLead the development of new activities with a particular focus on engaging supporters outside of events at our research locations, for example through using digital, face-to-face or broadcast approaches to bring the science to lifeDevelop scalable, adaptable and impactful engagement activities and events that support our growing philanthropic fundraising functionWork with colleagues across multiple teams to develop, deliver and evaluate engagement activities and experiences that can be rolled-out nationally.
