Location: High Wycombe

Our client is looking to appoint a Senior Communications Manager at their Pharmaceutical headquarters in High Wycombe to develop and implement compelling and impactful communications strategies to drive growth of their Dynamic Champion brands and support business objectives
Role Purpose
*To build our clients profile and reputation with external stakeholders in their key Therapy Areas of focus; anticipate and react to issues affecting the business; build thought leadership in their priority TAs; and demonstrate the value of their priority brands through media activity around scientific data and regulatory milestones, real world evidence or stakeholder partnerships.
*To coach and develop direct reports (2 x Communication Managers) by providing ongoing counsel, support and sharing of best practice. In line with their Credo, foster an inclusive culture and agile working environment in the comms team, creating an environment where others can excel and working processes can be improved.
*To develop relationships of trust with relevant external customers (patients, patient advocacy groups & media) and key internal stakeholders to help shape and influence the environment and position them as a trusted and respected business partner.
*To build relationships and liaise closely with Communications & Public Affairs colleagues in the UK, EMEA and Global to ensure alignment and to partner on projects where required.

Key Role Activities
Brand Communications

Is the Communications lead for all matters related to Product and Therapy Area Communications across their therapy areas including:
oEnvironmental understanding as it pertains to our TAs and provide updates on significant external developments, including competitor news
oProvide insight and strategic counsel to business partners
oBuild and strengthen relationships with media, patient advocacy groups (as appropriate and in collaboration with Patient Engagement Team) and other stakeholders
oEnsure close alignment with CVTs, Commercial Leads and Business Unit Directors to ensure brand communications strategies fully align with business needs

Essential Technical Knowledge, skills and experience
*At least 8 years' experience in pharmaceutical brand/product and therapy area/franchise communications, either in-house or within an agency/consultancy
*BA Honours degree or equivalent (not subject specific)
*Expertise in core healthcare communications disciplines
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to translate complex scientific data into compelling communications materials
*Strong media knowledge and journalist contacts
*Knowledge of new models of communication including digital and social media
*High level of understanding of the ABPI Code of Practice and J&J Health Care Compliance
*Strong technical competencies relevant to Brand/Product Communications, including issues management and proactive, compliant product communications
*Experience in benchmarking results and setting appropriate evaluation metrics
*Experience working collaboratively across different teams with competing priorities
*Strong negotiating and influencing skills
*Proven track record in delivering results in a high pressure and fast-paced environment
