Based: Preston

Salary: highly dependent on experience, flexible working, good holidays and benefits, opportunities for the future

Initially 12 month contract, possibility of permanent position

Travel required for the first month to conduct handover - costs fully covered.

Our client is a highly successful service provider, extremely well known throughout the UK they are one of the largest businesses in their industry with 20 various business entities forming the wider group. With extensive growth on the business agenda for the next 5 years, they are looking for a highly adaptive Senior Finance Business Partner to join them on a 12 month contract basis, with the opportunity to go permanent for the right person.

We are looking for a confident, commercially focused Finance Manager/Business Partner who can work closely with Managing Directors/Senior Executives and is happy to travel initially to conduct a handover with a current member of staff.


  • Providing leadership, mentoring and development of finance team (5) to achieve objectives and performance targets
  • Accountable for financial information presented to the board, regulators and wider group
  • Effective financial management of allocated businesses - preparing short, medium and long term financial forecasts and planning
  • Timely production of financial reporting information - management accounts, annual budgets, cash flows, investment appraisals and statutory accounts/financial statements
  • Monitoring financial indicators and KPI's, ensuring objectives are achieved
  • Preparing, managing and overseeing annual budget and budget setting process
  • Preparing audit files and finalising audited financial statements and accounts, presenting to board
  • Leading on development of financial strategy to grow the business through constructive financial advice on strategic and operational matters
  • Lead on audit internally and externally, ensuring compliance with financial reporting requirements
  • Developing and maintaining effective partnerships with key stakeholders - board of Directors, Regulators, Auditors, Pension Providers and Government representatives
  • Leading on introduction and development of new group processes
  • Developing and continuing strategic finance services reflecting business aims, visions and values for the future
  • Ensuring senior team and Directors made aware of any financial risk - minimising this with appropriate monitoring techniques and strategies


  • ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified
  • Confident in ability and able to business partner effectively with Senior Executives/MD
  • Team management experience - highly desirable
  • Adaptable to change and comfortable implementing new processes and procedures
