Supply Chain Specialist

Our global client based in Milton Keynes is recruiting a Supply Chain Specialist to join their busy team. The contract has initially been signed off until end of October 2019 with a possible extension. The hourly rate for this assignment is £14.00 - £23.90 depending on experience plus holiday pay and other benefits. Working as part of the Procurement team and will be responsible for ensuring the timely maintenance of the demand forecast, ensuring maximum availability of product whilst minimising obsolescence. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure continuity of supply to the market.

Responsibilities:
Maintain and build relationships with Customers and Supply Sites in the assigned geographic areas. Act as primary contact for the assigned customers, receive, analyse and process forecasts and orders, manage inventory and deliveries and support new product introductions. Ensure supply to end customers and develop processes that ensure that this supply is protected. Manage and proactively resolve supply issues via effective coordination and communication in close cooperation with the Planning teams, manufacturing sites and the customers. Mitigate and avoid future supply issues by thorough root cause analysis and implementation of preventative measures. Comply with all company, MMD and local regulations, guidelines and procedures.

Job Description and Responsibilities

The primary activities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in all aspects of inventory management, ensuring the accuracy of all systems and prompt query resolution
  • In conjunction with the business units, manage the demand forecasting process ensuring maximum availability and minimising obsolescence
  • Maintain master and forecast data throughout all stages of the product lifecycle
  • Co-ordinate the management of short dated stocks
  • Inbound order generation and reconciliation
  • Manage the importation and release of special imports
  • Administer the procurement of locally produced products and 3rd party vendors
  • Administer, co-ordinate and expedite all necessary documentation for cross company deliveries
  • Expedite product supply and quality release
  • Produce business reports to support internal stakeholders
  • In conjunction with the customer services team, manage the allocation of stocks and the distribution of customer information
  • Manage the divisional Sales and Operations Planning process
  • Create and maintain departmental documentation
  • Support the implementation of new products, systems and processes
  • Any other tasks assigned by the departmental manager

Skills:

Essential

  • Demand planning experience
  • Advanced Excel
  • Intermediate Word and PowerPoint

Preferred

  • SAP experience
  • Previous experience within a commercial pharmaceutical company
